The Perch sits atop the Container Park in downtown Las Vegas, where its all glass walls give unobstructed views of the park. The lawn area inside the park often features live performances, and The Perch is a great place to kick back and watch.
The interior is modern with white details that shine with all of the natural light illuminating the space during the day. The restaurant can seat about 20 people inside the container, while the outdoor terrace can hold close to 40. For more intimate service, visit them on a Sunday or Monday when traffic will be a little bit slower and when one excellent server acts as bartender and waiter for this quaint space.
You can count on The Perch’s wonderful customer service – they know how to make customers feel at home. As soon as you open the door expect to be greeted and offered a drink. We wholeheartedly suggest that you try the homemade lemonade.
The menu offers sharing plates, salads, fillers, and a kid’s menu. The deserts are given verbally because they change too often to print. The plates are seasonal and made with rotating ingredients to always offer you a fresh experience. The mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes is a great sharing plate; it is flavorful and topped with micro basil before being drizzled with sweet balsamic vinaigrette. Ask for the dinner specials that change nightly for a secret surprise. The special we enjoyed was the grilled turkey burger, and we highly recommend it. With its crispy fried jalapenos and onions, spicy mayonnaise, and melted provolone cheese, it was a gratifying choice. (We aren’t sure how it’s possible for their turkey burger to be as juicy as it was.)
Save room for dessert. The cheesecake is smothered in strawberry sauce and sliced strawberries, with strawberry puree mixed into the batter and settled atop a made-to-order chocolate graham cracker crust. The fine chocolate covered strawberry almost caused a personal war in our marriage.
Happy Hour is a great way to sample The Perch without the commitment of a larger bill. Weekdays from 4-6pm you can knock $2 off their signature cocktails, enjoy $5 drafts and house wines and sharing plates are just $5-9. Though not on their happy hour menu, they offer a large variety of house-infused vodkas with flavors like watermelon, lychee, cinnamon vanilla, and prickly pear. An appetizer, entrée, dessert, and beverage comes to a total of about $40.
