Amore Taste of Chicago has a massive following of Las Vegas locals who swear by the quality of this pizza. The restaurant has an eclectic style, with each table paying tribute to one of the Las Vegas casinos. It’s a relaxing place to sit, enjoy a meal, and watch the game. As we arrived, the restaurant reverberated with cheers as the Vikings scored another touchdown.
Service is always excellent here, and our most recent visit was no exception. Our waitress for the evening was Autumn, and she never missed a drink or a marinara bowl refill. Throughout our meal she swapped stories with us about the growth of our town, and her good humor made us feel like we were part of the family. While pizza is the main draw of this restaurant, the menu includes other items such as lasagna and rigatoni. There are also items for more health conscious patrons including Caprese or Mediterranean salad. If you are not in the mood for pizza or pasta, we suggest trying the Italian beef sandwich or a meatball submarine.
Our meal started with the deep fried ravioli, which came fried to crunchy perfection, and full of hot ricotta and parmesan cheese in every delicious bite. There is a small bowl of zesty marinara sauce for plunging these little fried wonders. You will want to use that as much as possible, and refills are on the house. For the signature deep dish pizza we decided on mushrooms, ricotta cheese, onions, and Amore’s own homemade sausage.
The Chicago method of baking involves using a larger pan. This causes the the pizza to have higher sides and requires a longer bake time. Due to this the chef places the toppings upside down in order to avoid burning the filling. Amore has this method down to a science. Our hand-made pizza arrived sizzling with the smell of crisp dough and sweet ripened tomato sauce, bringing back memories of our old high school job in a local pizzeria. The crust was crisp, crunchy, buttery and full of ricotta and sausage. This pie works a gratifying magic that reminded us why we eat here so often. If you need sweet bite to close the meal, we suggest the cannoli, a comforting little treat filled with creamy, sweetened cream cheese and sprinked with semi-sweet chocolate pieces.
Amore Taste of Chicago is not the cheapest pizza around, but the care they put into every single pizza makes it an incredible value. This is a first rate Chicago-style pizza experience where there is always laugh and a smile waiting for you at the counter.
