Fremont Street is currently not known for its bar district, but that is changing. Vanguard is one of the reasons why. Vanguard opened in 2010 and was one of the pioneers of the craft cocktail trend in Las Vegas. The bar is the only EDM lounge in the Fremont East district. It does get crowded when the music is pounding and the fog machines are blasting.
You will not find plastic bottle liquors here. The cocktails here are full of love and care making them worth the bigger price tag. They also have an incredible happy hour on weekdays from 4-7pm, with half off well drinks, house wines, and beer. Their happy hour also includes $7 craft cocktails, making them half off. The club part of Vanguard will not be active during happy hour, but it still has the ambiance of an industrial bar.
Try ordering the Copperfield for a fun game. You name the spirit and the bartender will create a unique concoction. We chose whisky and ended up with one of the most delicious cocktails we’ve ever experienced. Our cocktail was a glorious mixture of hazelnut, cinnamon, and the sweetness of the whisky. It was just a bit like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, with each sip bringing new combinations of flavors.
Vanguard is a perfect meeting spot for groups before a long night downtown or for a change of pace. Once the club scene opens up in the later hours, prepare to dance until you are sore and live like a true Las Vegan.
